Overview – Ilizarov Ring Fixator System

The Ilizarov Ring Fixator System is a circular external fixation device used for the stabilization and management of complex bone conditions. It is based on the principle of tensioned wire fixation combined with circular ring constructs, providing highly stable multi-planar support for bone fragments while allowing controlled adjustment during the healing process.

The system consists of circular rings, threaded rods, tensioned wires, half pins, and connecting components that are assembled around the affected limb to form a rigid yet adjustable frame. This modular design enables surgeons to perform gradual correction of deformities, limb lengthening, and precise fracture alignment without disturbing the biological environment of the bone.
