Our Story

Kaushik Orthopaedic is India’s leading manufacturer and exporter of Orthopaedic Implants and Instruments. Under the able guidance of our founder – Late Shri Brij Mohan Kaushik, the foundation for Kaushik Orthopaedic was laid with a focus on uncompromising quality of products, customer obsession, a zeal for innovation and compliance with global standards.

His journey since 1961, and our commitment to these values has made us a trusted name in orthopaedic manufacturing, quintessential of quality and reliability. Our founder had a vision to manufacture the best-in-class orthopaedic devices in India for the World – a dream that is being realised by our leadership by carrying his legacy for six decades.

1961 - 1972

1961

Shri BM Kaushik who had been working as an orthopaedic sales professional, laid the foundation for importing cutting edge orthopaedic devices from the UK by establishing Metropolitan Surgical Works as a joint venture with his colleague.

1969

Driven by his vision to manufacture orthopaedic devices in India, Shri BM Kaushik set up one of the earliest orthopaedic manufacturing workshops in India. He began by adapting products like Hip Nails and K Wires through extensive analysis and reverse engineering of the cutting edge products being developed across the world, and brought them to the Indian Market at very competitive prices.

1972

The product range was expanded when we began manufacturing products such as Austin Moore Hip Prosthesis, Screws, Plates, etc.

1979 - 1991

1979

In order to further scale his manufacturing setup and operations, Shri BM Kaushik brought onboard investors and field experts as partners in the business to set up Vikas Orthopaedic. This fresh investment and expertise allowed us to further diversify our product range to include DCP Plates and Cortical Screws.

1989

After having built many successful ventures in the orthopaedic space and having given his partners profitable exits, Shri BM Kaushik still had the zeal to further push the limits of orthopaedic device manufacturing in India. Having acquired significant experience, expertise and capital through his previous ventures, Shri BM Kaushik laid the foundation for Kaushik Orthopaedic Corporation along with his son Mr Arun Kaushik, who had also spent significant time learning under the able guidance of our founder.

1991

Shri BM Kaushik’s younger son, Mr Shashi Kaushik, joined the business with a fresh perspective and zeal for adapting modern technology into the business to help expand it. Given his strong background in computers and technology, he helped modernise many different aspects of the business.

1995 - 2000

1995

Kaushik Orthopaedic became the first Indian firm to start manufacturing Ilizarov type Ring Fixators in India.

1998

Mr Arun Kaushik and Mr Shashi Kaushik took complete charge of the firm after the sad demise of our revered founder - Shri BM Kaushik. These leaders have carried forward our founder’s legacy.

2000

Kaushik Orthopaedic received its ISO-9001 certification.

2002 - 2008

2002

Kaushik Orthopaedic partnered with multiple export firms to start exporting our high quality Indian made Orthopaedic Devices. This marked a huge milestone in our journey, going from importing international surgical products to India, to exporting world-class orthopaedic devices to our international customers - our organisation’s life had come full circle and we had begun to realise our founder’s vision.

2006

Kaushik Orthopaedic Private Limited was established and registered under the companies act, with Mr Arun Kaushik and Mr Shashi Kaushik as the directors of the company.

2008

Kaushik Orthopaedic continued to make strides in our journey to become a globally compliant and trusted manufacturer of orthopaedic devices by becoming ISO-13485 certified and receiving our CE certification.

2009 - 2013

2009

Our flagship manufacturing plant was established in HSIIDC Rai Industrial Area. The creation of this plant was a huge step in strengthening our manufacturing capabilities and improving our ability to serve a larger customer base.

2010

New CNC machines were installed in our HSIIDC manufacturing plant along with the creation of engineering teams who can operate these cutting edge machines to produce high quality products.

2013

The HSIIDC Rai Manufacturing Plant was expanded to include a new unit with a new building.

2014 - 2022

2014

New VMC and Sliding Head machines were installed in the HSIIDC plant to further expand our manufacturing capabilities.

2015-2021

Kaushik Orthopaedic began improving its presence in international markets under its own brand name by participating in medical expos and trade shows across Europe, Middle East and Latin America.

2022

Kaushik Orthopaedic further proliferated its offline marketing arm by continuous presence across global medical expos and events such as MEDICA - Germany, Arab Health - Dubai, FIME - USA, Phil Medical - Philippines, as well as multiple domestic orthopaedic events such as IOACON, DOACON, UAIOACON, BOA MIDCON, etc. starting in 2022 up until present.

2023 - 2025

The leadership began training the future business leaders by inducting Mr Aditya Kaushik - the third generation in this business, who has worked on multiple marketing focused projects since then. Given his strong engineering background and work experience spanning product development, technology and leading multiple large teams, before joining the family business, he brings an amalgam of ambition and pragmatism to the business.

2024

Kaushik Orthopaedic expanded into multiple new markets such as South East Asia, Latin America and Europe with multiple new customers across countries like Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Guatemala, Bulgaria, etc. Within India, Kaushik Orthopaedic further expanded its customer base in East and North India.

2025

Mr Aditya Kaushik was inducted into the Board of Directors, inspired by the vision of his grandfather as well as the teamwork and work ethic of Mr Arun and Mr Shashi Kaushik.

One of the earliest orthopaedic leaders in the country, Shri BM Kaushik laid the foundation for many orthopaedic businesses which paved the way for Kaushik Orthopaedic. Through his rich experience and vision for making world class orthopaedic devices in India for the World, he built this business and instilled these values in our leadership. He understood the importance of health in a person’s life and the criticality of the products we manufacture, leaving no scope for compromise when it comes to quality. His values continue to guide our leadership in taking his legacy forward.

Having learnt directly from our founder, Mr Arun Kaushik has led the organisation with his expertise in operations, manufacturing, domain knowledge of orthopaedic devices and a penchant for expanding the capabilities of the business in all realms, as well as delivering its benefits to our customers, patients and employees alike. His role has been instrumental in establishing and operating our multiple manufacturing facilities as well as expanding our brand’s global presence over the last decade. With the guidance of his father and unwavering support from his brother, Mr Arun Kaushik has carried our founder’s legacy for over three decades.

Given his penchant for technology and marketing, Mr Shashi Kaushik has led our sales and marketing efforts since the time he joined the organisation, following in the footsteps of his father. His role has been instrumental in maintaining relationships with our customers across the globe as well as expanding our customer base. He is a true believer in our founder’s commitment to exceptional customer experience and has earned the trust of our customers with this approach. His resolve to modernise our organisation by the adoption of technology shows in our marketing as well as manufacturing setup.

The third generation in this organisation, Mr Aditya Kaushik comes with an analytical background with experience in building teams and products as well as leadership of large teams and projects in both fast paced startups and established organisations, during his career before joining the family business. An alumnus of the prestigious Delhi College of Engineering, Aditya has a penchant for solving problems with a structured approach. Hence he has followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, father and uncle. At Kaushik, his work centres around projects specific to the organisation’s growth including international marketing, new product development and training and development within the organisation.
